surrogacy injections!

so with being a surrogate comes all these crazy injections
does anyone do this and have any tips.
it hurts so bad!

how much does it pay to be a surrogate? and what happens if more than 1 embryo takes?

I'm curious as well  

I heard you can't take a check for having a baby, basically like selling the kid....but, you can receive money for your "expenses", so I guess it varies.

Around 18-22k and the price goes up for multiples

im not sure ive heard different prices once this girl told me she got 60,000!!!
which is alot!!!
i am getting less than half that, but not in cash just in like rent being paid a car and a little cash

umm if 2 embryos take u usually get double i think or so i am supposed to

It's not for the baby, it's for the time and effort it takes growing the baby/babies

yea it also depends on the state u live in, some places wont allow u gettin paid for it

I haven't done it yet  

I applied, passed my screening. Just getting the rest of the paperwork and documents they need.

yes its actuallly just as hard for the parents as it is for the surrogate, but i know my ips are happy im doing it

This may only be a Canadian thing, but this is what I meant by my first post.

The Assisted Human Reproduction Act (the “AHRA”) prohibits several surrogacy related activities. Surrogacy itself is not banned, but payment of consideration or the offer of payment to a surrogate is a prohibited act. Pursuant to Section 12 (which has not yet been proclaimed), all of the surrogate’s reasonable, out of pocket expenses may be reimbursed to her. At some point, the Federal Government will proclaim regulations to this section which may limit or otherwise regulate the types of expenses which may be reimbursed, but until that date, all expenses may be reimbursed provided that they are reasonable and related to the surrogacy.

Is it different in the US?

I have no idea about the policies in Canada. I just know that that's about the amount you get paid not including expenses such as insurance for doctor appointments and sometimes even living expenses. (and stuff like maternity clothes, prenatals, etc)

yeah in Canada it's illegal to pay for a surrogate, only allowed to compensate her for the pregnancy and birth related expenses, it's even illegal to ask someone. I tried...but was told about that, I don't know many close friends who would do it for me...so had to give up that idea.
