I have heard toothpaste works for drying out zits... but like, my face can never decide if it's too dry or too oily   It's so annoying.

I think I might take a trip & see one. How do I go about doing that? Do I need a referral from my regular dr or can I just call one up & make an appointment?

Most likely you will need a referral from your primary doctor.

Honestly? I rarely ever use soap. I never have. Washing my face with warm or cool water is what I tend to do. I rarely wear makeup, never use foundation or anything. If I wear makeup or I've been sweaty on a day (more so lately because I have meds to put me through menopause) I use the Clearasil Perfectawash dispenser. I cant use it everyday because it dries out my skin. But honestly, Ive never had an issue with breakouts and I rarely ever use soap or anything. I break out MORE when I wash everyday. So I just rinse everyday with water.

1. Make sure to wash your sheets (mainly your pillowcase) at least once a week if not more often. Oils from your hair; sweat; etc. build up & can cause your skin to breakout if you're one of those unfortunate people like me, who have struggled for years. (I'm 25 & my skin is FINALLY better; it got better during my last pregnancy!)
2. Wash morning & night; try not to touch your face during the day. (I'm currently just using an Oil of Olay creamy face wash. It's good-doesn't dry it out or leave it oily).
3. Wear as little makeup as possible unless you're going out. I use Loreal BB Cream-it's amazing for coverage & doesn't feel like you're wearing a cake mask.
4. MOISTURIZER! I know you probably think that's a bad idea (thinkig oils will clog the pores) BUT you need to find a good hypoallergenic moisturizer with SPF & apply it every morning after you wash your face. Go to Sephora or something & tell them your skin troubles. They should be able to give you some samples to see what works best for your skin!
A good regimen is imparietive to having good skin.

Thank you!! I've heard Oil of Olay is really good when it comes to face lotion & stuff. So I might try that out.

It's just annoying because I used to use acne wash, never worked. So then I only used soap & water, didn't work. Then I thought maybe I was washing too often, so I only washed in the morning, didn't work. It's so frustrating

It might be the type of makeup I wear too... I just buy it from target, it's nothing really expensive. Maybe it'll be worth it to spend a little more at a store like sephora or mac, that doesn't make my face totally break out.

I have pretty good skin, I have a neighbor that sells Avon and I have been using their basic cleanser/moisturizer and it's not too expensive and a light pressed powder as a base. Mascera and lip gloss too, otherwise that's about it.

Question... when people say they use a moisturizer, is it just sunscreen? Or does it contain something more?
I picked up some olay complete moisturizer earlier at target along with some foamy soap stuff.. but when I was reading the back it has 4 ingredients but the purpose for all of them is sunscreen......

I was told by an esthetican(spelled wrong?) friend of mine that the best thing to use while still getting acne instead of a moisturizer was a facial sunscreen in the sunsceen section. It MUST say invisible zinc oxide to really be effective for the face to prevent both breakouts and sun damage.
It's what I'm using, but my chin and lip line really take a hormonal beating depending on my cycle, no matter what I do.
