Pregnancy and haunted houses?

posted 13th Oct
So I have this friend who is pregnant and she's been to about 6 "haunted" attractions.   I don't think it's recommended. I went to one called the Field of Screams (haunted corn maze, insane asylum and haunted woods) before I found out I was pregnant and I freaked out! I got elbowed a lot and pushed over too. I don't think it's safe.

I'm 24 weeks and I'd go if I had the chance. My SO is too much of a scaredy cat to take me though.
If I was somewhere that was so crowded that I was getting elbowed, I wouldn't want to be there regardless of if I was pregnant or not.

I've been, SO walked in front of me and protected me! haha But I don't see the big deal as long as you protect your belly somewhat. Your kid is protected within tons of fat and liquid, I'm sure s/he is fine.

Why won't they let pregnant women in?? I didn't know that a haunted attraction was a danger to pregnant women! haha

I dont think it is a good idea for several reasons. The biggest two are 1. being scared like that is going to put stress on you and the baby, 2. if you are anything like me and my pregnancy bladder, you would probably embarrass yourself by peeing all over the place LOL. No but seriously, I just dont see it as a good idea.

Some do, some don't.
It's a liability issue they dont want you to sue if you do get hurt.
Most places just say its not recommended.

I went to one with my first and no one got near me except the guy on stilts or watever and I did end up peeing on myself and yelled at him for it but I think its fine just be aggressive if someone gets near you

Ahh... okay.

I watched horror movies and all that stuff during this pregnancy. I never thought getting scared for a few minutes (knowing that it's mostly fun) would be risky during pregnancy! haha

Im going to 2 of them, Im almost 35 weeks!
I dont see any harm in it. My kids and husband are excited!
People make a big deal over nothing, everyone should do as they please or see fit for there situation.

Being scared will not harm your baby - getting elbowed could though.
