I found out why I keep miscarrying

posted 26th May
I had my last miscarriage 2 months ago when i was 8wk, i had one last yr when I was 13.5 wks.

I went to my gyn to find out I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. An the reason why i had lost the babies is because I had a large cyst that I had to have removed. An that when i try to get pregnant I am going to have alot of trouble and i will need fertilty drugs because I dont ovulate month to month like I should. And now I am left with the dision of having my ovaries drilled to get rid of all the cyst but I dont know if I want to.

has this affected anyone else?

one of my close friends had that, she had the surgery to have the cysts removed, is perfectly fine now, and the doctors say that she'll be able to have kids now where she wouldn't have been able to before. the cysts that she had on her ovaries were really painful for her, so it was either live with the pain, or have the surgery.

have you talked to your doctor about having eggs harvested BEFORE you have the surgery? it might be a good thing to look into.

They didn't offer a different treatment method such as BC pills for a few cycles? I am so sorry to hear about the miscarriages. I know what it is like to try and end up with a broken heart. I am so sorry that you have to go thru that so often.

I would suggest that you speak with a fertility specalist about other options vs surgery. I had a laporoscopy at last resort to correct my issues. It was the best thing for my situation but not for everyone else.

I will send you my thoughts and prayers.

My sister in law has PCOS. She doesnt have to have fertility drugs to get pregnant she has to take a medication that diabetics take, its called Metphormin, not sure i spelled it right. But she has had two healthy pregnancies and only one miscarriage and it was very early like at 5 weeks.

That's what my doc said that I had; cysts on both of my overies...

birth control should fix that..or at least thats what he said...

I'm sorry to hear about your loss....

I have PCOS also and I take Metformin every day wether i'm TTC or not.

Has the doctor suggested that or a round of BC for you? Sometimes that can strink the cysts and make them manageable.

Best wishes for you!

I have PCOS and was told I would need to take fertility pills as well. I remember calling my husband from my car crying hysterically that we will never have children.I had a MC about 5 years ago and Birth Control makes me physically sick so I convinced myself it would be very very hard to have babies. I'm 32 wks along now and everything has been good so far. . . I was completley shocked when I found out I was pregnant. Although I was devastated when I had the MC I just kept telling myself that everything happens for a reason and when it's the right time everything will work out... I hope everything works out well for you..

Ive decided at the moment to take birth control because i am in the middle of moving an planning my wedding. Once i decide to have kids I will have to sit down with my doctors an decide what is the best method. I have fertility problems that runs in my family so i do want to try before i turn 25. I am thinking about having some of my eggs taken out an frozen to save just incase

hi There!
I have PCOS for about...well..was diagnosed on 1999 when I was 18, but I'm pretty sure I have had it all my life (well since first AF)
I have become pregnant 3 times on Clomid and Metformin my first was born a preemie @ 34 weeks and my other two pregnancies I miscarried on week 6 on both cases. The reason for my mc was not just the PCOS it was the hormones.. I was not producing enough progesterone to stay pregnant so my body rejected the baby....it was nothing to do with the cysts.. but the hormone issue was related to PCOS. I have never had ovarian drilling and do not need so cuz first my cycles are rather crazy so I get like 4 periods or less in a year.. (ovulation?.. non existent!!).. so to help with that doc put me on birth control pills ...worked likemagic!! I t hasnt totally restored my periods but at least Im getting one each month. my story is rather long.. if you want to read about it go to my main page and read my stuggles with PCOS. Im here for you sister. And if you need advice or anythigplease dont be shy to let me know!! a new friend to you and all ladies out there with PCOS..we ar sisters in strugle, strength, success, sorrow.. IM HERE FOR YA!!
LOADS IF BABY DUST AND ESPECIALLY OVULATION DUST!!!!!!
