Suggestions?

posted 13th Oct
So, dealing with my son has been trying. My brain is fried.

After he goes to school, he goes outside to run around and play with his water guns. He asked me, for the second time, if he can talk to strangers. I said "no. never do you ever talk to strangers." And then asked "can't i just say hi?" After we went back and forth about this, I told him to come inside because obviously he isn't understanding me. I've told him why to not talk to strangers.

Then he tells me this morning that he walked over to his friends house and asked if he could come outside... after I specifically told him to stay right here. I peek outside every 15 minutes at him, but he must've run over there after I looked at him.

So it's obvious he isn't mature enough to play outside on his own. I played outside by myself all the time when I was his age, but always stayed where my parents told me to.

I offered to let him play Bloons on the computer this morning so I could get the laundry done. I put the game up and he starts whining that he doesn't want to play that one. After the third time of going back and forth with him, I just said smurf it. He starts freaking out and I send him to his room.

So, now what? I'm about to just make him sit down and write his spelling words over and over. I just need some peace.

Sounds like something I would do. If he can't appreciate the privileges you're giving him, have him sit down and work on his spelling words. You're doing good. Just reading this makes me not look forward to Kiki hitting that age,lol

Yeah, this age sucks. Layla's age isn't any better, though.

I was just taking a nap with Sean and Layla while Michael was up here watching Wipeout. I was at that little part where you're ALMOST asleep, extra relaxed and all that... yeah, Michael walked in of course. I'm so tired, but can't get back to sleep.

I hate the weekends.
