need thoughts/prayers

DH's grandfather had a stroke in the middle of the night last night. He lives out in BFE and the ambulance is on the way out there now. He hasn't been doing good lately. He has diabetes really bad and is almost blind. Plus, something with his heart (I don't know all the details, just know he has heart problems). DH is really close to his grandfather, and he's the last one he has left. DH is gone for drill right now and isn't supposed to come home until tomorrow and I'm hoping it's not too late so he can go see him  . I hate having to tell DH stuff like this when he is gone, it just breaks my heart.

Please, keep DH and our family in your thoughts/prayers, which ever you do. DH seemed to take it pretty well, but I know he is probably really worried he won't be able to see him again before he passes (like his other grandfather).

Sorry if this is jumbled. I'm trying to figure out how to get DH home and how to get to the hospital so he can see his grandfather. He is such a sweet man, it breaks my heart he is doing so bad

DH is out at the range right now, so he couldn't talk long. He is going to try and talk to his Sargent (spelling??) and see if there is anyway he can come home today so we can go up there. It's about an hour away, and DH is 3 hours away. I feel so helpless

What hospital are they sending him to?? My grandfather was out working in the middle of nowhere and had a stroke out in a cotton field. They finally found him and took him to St Bernards and they took such great care of him. Is there any chance of him recovering? =[

They live out past Pochahontas and I think that's where they took him. I haven't heard any thing else just yet. Idk how bad it was or anything. I'm waiting for another call from MIL to find out more so I can pass it on to DH.

Keep us updated, okay? I know you've got to be feeling awful for DH. Just keep doing like you are and tell him as much as you know. He'll be with him soon enough. <3

DH has stuff to do to keep him busy thank goodness, but I'm sure it's killing him that he can't be there right now.

any word from his Sargent yet?

He told him to tell the next guy up (I forget his rank) to see if he can leave. But he has to qualify first, and let everyone else qualify since they were out at the range when I called him.

I never heard anything else yesterday. This morning I had an email from MIL on facebook. Johnny (DH's grandfather) refused to go to the hospital yesterday. No clue why. Something else happened last night and he is now in St. Bernards hospital in a town about 30-45 minutes away from where I live. They said it doesn't look good at all and MIL mentioned something about his heart muscles being dead? I don't know. DH is on his way home now and is getting released earlier than the rest of the company so he can go see him.

Thank you. We are still waiting to hear back about the tests he had yesterday. He keeps going in and out. Like, one minute he will be normal, the next he doesn't know where he is or who anyone is.
