Those who have had C sections only please share.

posted 13th Oct
Due to medical reasons I have two choices upon delivery. This has really lowered my spirit because I have came so close to having my LO. I can either be induced a few days befor due date to deliver vaginal are carry through to my due date with a c section. To those who have had a c section ONLY are they as bad as most people say? What was it like to have a c section? and how long did it take you to heal after a c section?

They knocked me out completely for the c-sec so I don't remember the actual procedure. Recovery for me wasn't bad but I didn't have any other kids. I didn't take any pain meds after I left the hospital. The scar was sensitive for a long while but not painful.

I was under for mine, but it was quick and I was holding DD within 30 minutes of her coming out.
The recovery was super easy. I didn't need the IV pain meds after the first day and just took Ibuprofen after going home. I went grocery shopping the day after I went home.

mine wasn't bad at all really and I was up on my feet a little the next day and then the day after I was walking around caring for the babies and doing housework. The worst part of it for me was how the spinal made me feel

Being induced could still result in a c-section.
I am having another one in January, 15 months apart.

Its not as bad as people say. I was awake for mine and it went very smoothly.. I recovered fast and got up the same day. My advice to you is don't just stay in bed. Walk around a lot if you can, drink lots of water, and tmi* try to poop as soon as you can because the gas is horrible! But just think positive!

I have had two...2 1/2 yrs apart.
The surgery wasn't bad at all-the worst part for me was the presure when they were getting the baby out. The first few hours after though was very painful both times but it got better with each day.
I had a emergency one the first time and a planned one the second due to placenta previa.
I would have def wanted a vaginal over a section.

Yes, it is as bad. I was so drugged up I don't remember anything. I could barely hold my child without pain. I couldn't change diapers, coulkjdnt pick her up, could barely walk. I recovered in..idk it depends. I couldn't lay down for 4. I was walking better by 2. I'd much rather try induction. Yes it *may* result in a section, but you won't know until you tr

I think it really depends on the person. I have a history of fast healing and very high pain tolerance. My c-section was 6 pm on a Thursday... I walked to the nursery at 8 am on Friday. I'm not saying I never had any pain because I did, but I didn't have any complications and I was back to normal really quickly. It wouldn't have been my ideal choice, but it was necessary for us because my son went into distress during labor.

I've had 2 c-sections, my last one was 5 weeks ago. They aren't that bad, I was home from the hospital 24 hours after I had mine, which isn't normal but since I was up and moving around my OB released me. I am back doing my normal activities and feel great.

Hurt like hell when they were pulling her out< i couldn't breath it felt like 200 lb person was sitting on my chest. I got to see her for about 3 minutes but i was to loopy to even really understand what was going on. It took about two hours after the surgery to finally see her. And they fed her a bottle which i was really pissed about because they knew i wanted to breast feed. Other then that stuff it wasn't to bad recovery was fairly easy for me but if i could go back i would have tried for vaginally.
EDIT: Btw I hate the scar, I'm sure it will fade (had the csection 3 months ago) but it will never truly be gone.

i had a section for my first, and unfortunately i have to have another one because its been only three years. but overall it was a great decision for me to do the section. i got my epidural and once it wore off i felt great! wanted to walk as soon as i felt my legs, but i had to wait till the next day. as far pain medicine, didnt take it because it wasnt a must. the scare was sensitive but it was way easier than i expected. not to mention i was only 15 years old.
