For a little tykes toddler bike? I'm thinking of getting DD one for Christmas, to go with a few of the little presents and her little kitchen.

Something like this:

The first one, I'd say around one, because you ca strap her on and easily push her. The second would be for an older toddler 2-3?

Those are so cute. How old is your LO?
I got my son this tricycle when he was 2 & it was a complete waste of money.... he outgrew it so quickly & it was hard to maneuver. But probably because he was already 2, I should have got it when he was younger.

OH OH I see that one in the store all the time! I was thinking about that one too!

She's 14 months, and she'll be nearly 17 months by the time christmas hits.

Yeah see, I was thinking that too, but she stays on her little 4x4 bike/car/thing (one of those battery operated things where you press the button and drive it around?) really really well, rides it around the yard, so I was thinking she'd be ok on something without a seatbelt.

I know right! I got it at walmart & they have a girly looking one too. I mean, I have a boy, but I just looooove the classic red tricycle look anyway.
That's a good age I think! I know girls are usually smaller than boys, so it might fit her better than it did my son.

Ah, well, see the height thing would be an issue, because she's already about 33 inches tall. I can imagine that by the time she hits 17-18 months old, she'll be about 36+ inches tall. She's very tall for her age, she wears nothing but 2T clothes...

Ahh I do think she'd be too tall for it then...   I mean, you can always try & then return it if it doesn't work out! 33 inches is pretty tall for her age, lol.

Dude the kid is HUGE. I actually took a pic, it's smurf quality but you can see how tall she is for her age. People mistake her for a 2 year old all the time around here. We're getting ready to put her mattress on the floor and start transitioning her to a toddler bed...

Yeah she is really tall!! My son is 3.5 & he's 37-38 inches tall. LOL
I suggest going straight with a twin bed instead of a toddler bed..

Ah see I was thinking about that, but I worry about her coordination... she has mommy's clumbsiness, and I swear she'd fall out of it all the time. At least with toddler bed height she'll be set for a good little while and I won't have to worry about her falling as bad. I was planning to just use her crib mattress for the toddler bed if I could. I think it'll fit, or I can make it fit lol!

Yes the crib mattress fits toddler beds... at least mine did. I believe all crib mattress' are the same size? lol. I got the toddler bed from walmart, it was like 60 bucks. I used it for a few months then sold it... (he's been in my bed ever since haha).
If you decide on the twin bed maybe you can just put the mattress on the floor? Or find a really low platform bed to where you don't need a boxspring, just a mattress?

Yeah they have a really nice toddler bed at walmart for 60 bucks, that's what we were planning to get. We're saving 30 bucks a week for the next 2 weeks in order to get it for her without an issue.   But tonight, we're putting her crib mattress on the floor and seeing how she'll do with sleeping just on the mattress.

It's probably the same one I got for my son.. it was a dark wood "sleigh" type, it was really nice. Somewhat of a pain in the ass to put together all by myself, but it was a really nice bed overall! I wish I could find a nice TWIN bed for that cheap   ugh.
