Quoting ~~My Pet Wussy~~:" Yes but my 8 yr old won't do it either. He wants to wake up his younger brother (5). Hs scared of being ... [snip!] ... in the living room alone. I had to crack down on it though, he's now only allowed to read in bed until his brother wakes up."I sleep in the living room, and it is open concept, computer in the dining room-but I could understand if it was down in the basement or there were no lights on-grrrrr.
Quoting mama3trish:" 5-5:30 a.m. is when she mostly awakes. It is rare for the youngest to sleep past 6, so I wouldn't be upset if she woke me up at 6 even."
Quoting ma ♥:" Gahhh that's what time I wake up to get ready for work, I agree it's so early haha. Why does she wake up so early? Does she go to bed early too?"Who knows why she wakes up, according to her she just had enough sleep. I have tried keeping them up later but it backfires, they seem to wake up earlier and are crusty. My youngest just started sleeping more than 4 hours a night a few months ago, so I was really looking forward to sleeping a wee bit more than 4 hours a night-and not during the week because the oldest two have school, and the youngest has therapy all day long.
Quoting O ♥ G:" <blockquote><b>Quoting ma ♥:</b>" What time is your 8yr old waking up?? Yes ... [snip!] ... you serious??? The child is EIGHT, not a one year old. What is she supposed to do? Get up and stare at her while she plays??"

Quoting Chelsea Dawns Mama:" My niece is 8. She gets up, gets some cereal for breakfast and plays. At that age, they don't need constant supervision. Hell, she's been doing that since age 5. But she does have two older siblings."
