IVF

Would you ever consider doing IVF if you couldn't conceive without medical help?
I don't think I would.....not because I am against it but because for about the same amount of money I could adopt. My DH and I are not rich so there would be limited funds to go on.

I can't really say. I think I wouldn't. That I'd adopt or just not have kids. However, it is easier to say that when I have two biological children, you know? I understand that since I've never been in that position, I can't say when I'd do. Also, it's not just the biological aspect, but the pregnancy you'd be giving up. The chance to experience pregnancy and delivery.
So, I don't *think* I would, but I can't say for sure. For the same basic reasons you listed. It's expensive and there's no assurance it will work.

IVF is a possible road i'm facing. After discussing the general procedure with my doctor and my husband, it seems like a long and drawn out, possibly painful road. I'd love to have a child that was still mine, albeit created a little differently. My husband is all for it, he doesn't care of any cost he wishes us to have a family.
His contribution is...well...minimal in the lengthy process of IVF! Injections, weeks of different drugs, the unknown if it will even work...time off work for all the ultrasounds...it's quite a lot to think about and I am honestly struggling with it.
Our doctor is still having us try IUI for a bit longer. I guess I don't understand how anyone can be against it. Try being infertile for 5+ years with incapacitating endometriosis. I'm willing to try anything to get rid of this pain and have a child.

I was totally prepared to do IVF is our IUI round didn't work. My RE said he would try 3 round of IUI before we moved on to IVF. It took the max dose of gonal-f injections for 14 days to get 1 mature follicle the first time we were going to try IUI. Thankfully we got pregnant the first try at it and we had our son, Elijah, on January 20th of this year. He was born 14.5weeks early but is doing great now and has gone from 1lb13.5oz at birth to 17lbs at almost 9 months (6months adjusted age).

I dont think I could emotionally handle it. Thats when I would be a foster parent, and hopefully adopt. I am not against IVF

I would do IVF in a heartbeat. Pregnancy is something I want to experience, and I would be devastated if I couldn't have children of my own.

IVF and adoption are two different kinds of infertility hell. Adoption certainly isn't for everyone and neither is IVF.
