ok but for how long? Will he eventually tire himself out and go to bed? What about a chance to the routine. Bath, Pjs, Cuddle, Book, Bed. Eliminate the tv as its over stimulating.

My LO is only 18 months but she does the same thing...the only thing that has worked so far is putting a baby gate across her door and laying her in bed at 9-9:30. I ususally hang in the livingroom and read a book or watch tv quietly. She ususally has a movie on in her room (but the dvd died yesterday) I keep all the lights in her room off and leave the hall or living room light off. She will play quietly for a while and eventually gets bored and falls asleep. If she calls me I tell her I'm there and it's sleep time and after about a half hour she's usually out.

Surprisingly my toddler who's going to turn three next month has been pretty good through her "horrible twos." I hope it's the same next year.
