Getting a break?

How often do you get a break?
I desperately need a break, Im a single mum, my younger two have health issues for which they have constant hospital appointments, they pick up everything that goes around and of course theres normal everyday stuff that comes with having 3 kids 5 and under. Tuesday ds2 was in hospital for an endoscopy and biopsies. Wednesday night I was meant to be going out with the parents of my sons class for a few drinks, my youngest two had CSID related sickness so I couldnt go. Last night two secondary school friends were meant to be coming over, originally we were going to go out for dinner but no one would babysit so it was going to a takeaway and catch up. Took my ds2 to the dr yesterday and he has hand, foot and mouth disease so had to cancel with my friends. I also had to take my 5 year old out of school and he isnt allowed to return till thursday at the earliest as he is showing early symptoms. Its just one thing after another, I really just need a smurfing break, just an hour to myself would be heaven. I asked my sister (before the hand foot and mouth diagnoses) if she could take my younger two for an hour or two while my son was in school for a break and she seriously asked 'why do you need a break' like seriously ugh anyways back to the question how often do you get a break?

My break is the few hours of sleep I get each night.

I don't. BD isn't even in the picture at all, so I don't get every other weekend or anything like that. I have DD every single moment of every single day.

When I'm at school...  

I think a small break like once a wk isn't unreasonable though IMO

I'm married and only have one baby under 5 and i never get a break.

BD lives in another country and only rings to cause problems by telling the kids the reason he isnt there is cause ',mummy doesnt want you to have a daddy' which couldnt be further from the truth

My daughter is almost 2 1/2 and she has never been to a babysitters. Not by my choice but nobody(family members) has ever asked to take her. I wish I could get a break though! I guess my little breaks are after she goes to bed at night. My SO(her dad) is a big help with her when he gets home from work but he never takes her out of the house alone.

IMO if he talks to them like that then you shouldn't even let him talk to them at all.

Unfortunately I have no choice if I dont he will stop child support and theres nothing that can be done about it. So i have to keep him sweet till after xmas when he will hopefully be hired fulltime and I can go through the child support agency for money

I'm on a break right now. My daughter is with my mom. It's 2:30am and I am awake for some stupid reason, I should be asleep!

My husband is gone 2weeks home 2 weeks, so when he's home helets me take naps and i go grocery shopping alone which is awesome. before he went out of town id take a good nap on a Saturday or Sunday. I cant believe ur sis won't keep them just for a little while, does she have kids cuz people w out children don't have a clue how tiring it can be.

She doesnt have kids, but on tuesday while I took my son to the hospital she took my oldest to school and looked after my youngest (who took a 2 and half hour nap) and she kept saying when I go back how tired she was and how its so much work. She looked after ONE for a few hours yet doesnt get why I would need a break from THREE

Obviously you know I don't get a break often, either..I mean on Brett's days off sometimes, but I don't count that because I'm still helping, I just feel like I should, or I'm doing laundry lol.

But an actual sitter? Like, once a month, at most. And I only have 2. So I feel for you. But at least no one can ever deny that you're a good momma.
