No Wrap/ Display shower

posted 13th Oct
My Family has suggested and I am starting to love the idea of having everyone not wrap their gifts. They will be displayed on tables with the cards. (Actually we are asking that people buy a baby book and write the greeting on the inside cover instead of the traditional greeting card) This will give me more time to spend with my guests and thank everyone. What do you think?

I love the idea of the books! I actually thought about doing it myself but my mom and MIL are throwing my shower and they are old school! lol kinda like the idea of no wrap but I kinda don't, I mean the suspense and tearing the paper off is the best part, right?!?! lol

It depends I guess on if u like opening gifts. I personally love opening baby gifts. But my friend on the other hand is not a "gusher" as she calls it. She hates opening presents cause she doesn't get that overly excited expression everyone wants. I think this would be a great idea for her. But it's not for everyone

In a way yes.. But then again no.. a lot of the showers I have been to.. I'm like .. enough is enough already. 2 hours of opening gifts. is kind of boring. Not to mention. I never really like people watching me open gifts as a kid.. and still don't. hah. There will be 60 plus people at my shower.. that's a lot to open.

I love the book idea! My aunt gave me a TON of books for my son so I had her and my uncle write a little note and their names (and the date of his shower) in their favorites... so that way when he grows up he'll be able to see that his great aunt and great uncle were the ones to give him his favorite book(s)

I love the idea. I am doing this.. Greeting cards just get put in a box and shoved in a closet or under the bed. If it's written in the book.. They will be used, and he will be able to read the greetings when he is older.

I love all of the ideas, its up to you but if your one that doesnt like opening wrapped gifts(I hate it) & since your having a good 60 guests, I'd send out the memo that you'd prefer them not wrapped
