Back Labor vs Non-Back Labor

posted 12th Oct
If you had back labor with one baby, did you have it the next time? & if you've had back labor and regular labor, how were they different? Im asking because I had terrible back labor with DD and was wondering if I go into labor if it will feel the same. What does regular labor feel like?

Not sure about the difference between the two, but every labor with every child is different. So theres a chance you WONT have back labor, but a chance you will. Its 50/50.

I had back labor with my first, not my second.
My second labor was much more pleasant than my first.
Also I was pushing incorrectly w/ #1 because the push that relieved the pain in my back, wasn't the correct push for delivery so that in itself was a terribly long, painful process.
With #2, I could focus on pushing correctly and my daughter was out in 2-3 pushes.

I agree, It was terrible with DD. Im just curious what regular labor feels like. Im sure if I go into labor either way I'll know but the past 20-30 mins I've been having this constant sharp pain/cramp like feeling across my entire stomach and it kind of got me wondering.

I only pushed for an hour with DD so it wasnt that bad. Labor itself last 18hours all together which sucked.

I had regular labor the first baby. Felt like menstral cramps then just progressively got worse. By the time I was ready to push my whole abdoman was contracting. My epidural didn't work so I felt pretty much everything. With my second, labor was in my back. Oh god it sucked. I have a bad back due to a car wreck. Believe me the nurses do not like when i sit straight up in the bed and have ur mom and m-i-l rub the pain away. My epidural worked this time. It was lovely. This is my 3rd pregnancy....kinda wondering what kind of labor I will have this time.

I had it with both and I expect t have it with this one as well. Never dropped.me demo having a natural labor and delivery. Massage and counter pressure is amazingly helpful. My husband was a fantastic support person.
