Unless they do what a lot of offices do, and crank the AC up so high to compensate for the heat, that you freeze to death. lol

I've heard that.... I'm "kind of" going into the medical field (substance abuse counselor... almost finished with my second degree) Im sure the same rules will apply to me too. I'm growing out the black dye in my hair and going back to my natural ginger anyways. I"m over the phase. ;)

No, I don't automatically assume someone is a bad parent just based on body piercings.

I generally assume they're probably a better parent in some aspects.

It's nice here now. Thin long sleeves isn't uncomfortable. It keeps the sun off you in summer anyway...keeping you cooler.

No. lol

I have visible tattoos, dye my hair "weird" colors, have spider bites and have, well had my septum pierced. I also wear fake gauges, lol. I get looks from time to time, but whatev. I'm dreaming up my future sleeves currently so I'm sure I'm bound to get even more looks.

DH and I moved back to his hometown about a year ago and the first time I went to the grocery store I was stopped about 5 times because of my chest tattoos. It's a small conservative town so I stuck out like a sore thumb, but back home no one even notices my tattoos because it's the norm.

I tend to think that they're more fun. More free spirited and would allow their child to be who their child wants to be.

Bad parents or dangerous ... No?

Not having a good job ... possibly but only from knowing people who have huge tattoes, body modifications, and wild hair only being able to get certain jobs with certain companies. There are a lot of people like this at my work but I work for a huge internet/computing/graphic design company who doesn't care what its staff look like. Then again this could just be the difference between America and Australia we tend to be more conservative in these cases.

I never assume anything that in depth simply based on appearance. That being said let me explain a little diddy from my vault. Lol

A few months ago my SO and I were grocery shopping after work. We are both tattooed and work dirty jobs. I'm sure we look anything but nice. The kid in front of us at self checkout didn't have enough money so I put a dollar in for him. His mom realized what I had done and told him not to make me pay, I insisted and she said no cancel the transaction.

Once he canceled it the machine spit my dollar out, so I grabbed it. The woman overseeing self checkout SNATCHED this dollar out of my hand and returned it to the boy, who explained that it was my dollar.

Then as we were completing our own transaction she was hawking us like we were going to steal. It's funny how people percieve others on their appearance. She probably assumed I was a white trash monster intent on robbing kids and stealing cereal from the grocery store.

I hate to EVER bring money into the mix , but I can guarantee you my SO and I make 5 times what she does in a year. But we are at Meijer commiting theft from small children...

The tattoos alone would not keep someone from finding a decent job. I have a pretty decent one, and just cover up. However, having funky colored hair and piercings may cause an issue. I dont do that... I used to when I was a SAHM, but if I want society to accept me in the business world.... I have to adapt to it. I cant expect it to adapt to me.

Quoting Back to Noob Status:" Good parents don't raise their kids to be hateful, racist and intolerant people. A swastika would make me think Nazi which would....you catch my drift?"

Did you know that symbol doesn't mean hate or anything like that?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika

So unless you have reason to think someone is a Nazi or skinhead or something like that then you shouldn't jump to conclusions.
