The OP, however, was asking about taking someone's appearance at face value, and let's face it, we ALL judge people based on appearances whether we like it or not. To me, if I saw someone dressed like a KKK member or Nazi, my gut instinct is that they are racist bastards who are exposing their children to racist ideology. Why? To prevent their kids from mixing with "lesser races."

I can't help my knee jerk response. I'm not going to treat someone with a Nazi tat rudely or anything, but I'm certainly not going out of my way to be their friend.
