need some advice/ answers!

posted 12th Oct
What exactly do I need to have before my daughter gets here? Like, I have a bed for her, lots of clothes, some diapers, wipes, and stuff like that but is there anything that I need to have before she's here...? Anything that will make things easier or I don't know, I just need some input cause I've heard / read alot of different things and would like a moms point of view

A baby bathtub? I found it so much easier than the regular tub or the sink. Those babies are slippery when wet! Lol

Bottles, bottle cleaner unless you have a dishwasher. Blankets, stroller I mean I had beyond what I needed and things I never used

I'm breast feeding and I was told not to use bottles in the beginning cause she won't latch on to me? Don't know if it's true though! lol

Very true. Don't introduce a bottle until breastfeeding is well established.   you'll need nursing pads and make sure you have lots of pads for post partum bleeding.

Yeah I'm going to try to breast feed her for as long as I can! I have a swing, bed, bath, clothes, some blankets, binkies, bouncer, burp rags, car seat..
I just dont know what else I need or how much of everything I need you know? Lol

Then you are going to need nursing pads and some lanisoh cream. You shouldn't use bottles for the first few months unless you absolutely have to. I'd also suggest investing in a good electric pump (any of the medela pumps are good), even if you are planning on staying home. It will help your milk supply if you can pump, and might even give you the chance to have a night off to really sleep, while someone else feeds her.

With my first I breast fed and she latched on but the bottles confused her. My second had a bilateral cleft lip and I breast fed her for 17 months! I'm sure you'll do fine!

Don't give a bottle unless you really have to! My LO is 7 weeks and still hasn't had one. You'll want plenty of breastpads, maybe a pump, a baby carrier of some sort (love my moby) and baby monitors.

The Angelcare monitor is awesome, especially if your worried about SIDS!

Also diaper rash cream is good to have on hand that way you don't have to run out and get it if you need it. You'll want baby wash, baby lotion, and mylicon drops or even the generic gas drops.
