My baby was exposed to what?!?!?

I was at my friends house today and she told me her 5 year old might have Fifth Disease...When I got home I looked up the symptoms and her son seems to fit the discription of Fifth Disease. She is going to take her son to doctor tomorrow and let me know! What should I do? Should I take my baby to the doctor too and let them know he was exposed to it? Make things worse my baby is only 4 months old!

Um no, leave your child in a box with no air holes so you don't get sick either... Of course go to the doctor.....

i would call the doctor tomorrow and let them know he has been exposed and see what they tell you.... good luck to you and i hope things work out for the best

Definitely go to the doctor. I can't believe your friend let you expose your child to her son. She should have told you to stay away if she thought he had that.

Uh what is Fifth Disease? And yes I would at least CALL the doctor but most likely if it's contagious and really bad I'd just go in. But it might have an incubation period where they might not can disgnose for a few days so you might wanna ask them about that too (like I say, I have no idea what FD is...)

Does your friends kid already have the rashes? Once the rash breaks out they are no longer contagious. BUT, to be on the safe side, give your babies pedi a call to make sure!

unless he starts to show signs, don't worry. I just read on it and it's just a rash and will heal quickly IF he does get it. there isn't anything you can do anyway. There isn't a treatment, you just have to wait for it to heal.

I would callyour peds and give them aheads up beings the baby is so young. It can't hurt, and will set your mind at ease.

Yes her son already has the rash. I was doing more research about it and it did confirm what you said. But I will try to reach his doctor tomorrow just to be on the safe side.
