Ignoring black woman in labor because of her race?

If she were white, people would have stopped and helped

So how do you know if someone is ignoring you because of your skin color or just ignoring you because they're an smurf?

I used to catch the bus in Denver, on the bus that is notorious for having a ton of not so good people on the bus. Without fail I always had my headphones on but on a low volume so I can hear my surroundings. It allowed me to "ignore" people because yes... sometimes you cant trust people. I don't give people my phone. The one and only time I gave someone my phone was at a different bus stop, they were with a child and we were talking about children and they said "Actually can I use your phone, I was supposed to be at the center and the bus is late." And our bus WAS late... like a smurfing hour late. She was a Mom going to her social worker and so yeah... I let her use my phone while I talked to her child and she was more than appreciative. But under 99% of circumstances I wont. I even remember one day I was listening to my phone and someone asked to use it and I said "I dont have a phone" and 5 minutes later pull it out to change my song. OOPS! lol.

But there are many people in Denver that ride the bus crying and moaning and its because they are on drugs. Ive seen people yell at people in the seat next to them but no one is there. So yeah, sorry, sometimes we do it for safety. Its not racist because I am FAR from racist, but I value my safety first before anyone elses. There have been many many many times I came home and said "I need to get a concealed carry permit." And yet people bitch about CC's on college campuses... but if you ride the bus at night with crazy ass people at the bus stop your mind will change.

Maybe it's the way YOU act towards white people that make them react that way... ever think about that?

And who do you believe to be the more friendly/helpful race?

o0o0o...Good question!

I, personally, think there are helpful/friendly people in every race, it just depends what area of the world you are in. A white person in New York City would have a different way of interacting with people than a person from, say, Memphis.

However, in my experience, I would say Hawaiians are the friendliest and Canadians are most helpful.   Not really a race though...

And to answer the OP, why would someone in labor really say "Do you have a cellphone?" instead of: "Someone, please help, call 911, I think I'm labor!!"

Labor is scary, especially if you are caught off guard, so yeah, I don't really buy the story let alone that only white people ignored her.

I don't think it has anything to do with race. She could've been ignored just as easily if she were white. IMO anyway.
