My family and I are considering moving to oregon salem or portland. We are taking a trip out there soon to scope out some possible places to live. But am curious is there any truth to people native to oregon disliking californians just simply because we are not born and raised. As well as if there is any good advice as for schools,dining, areas of intrest and residential possibilities would be appreciated....thanks!!

And no. there is no truth. My sis lived in CA for a decade before moving to OR and has never had a problem

I live in Portland, I've never heard of people being hostile toward Californians.

But Portlanders are WEIRD, and if you visit now, you'll be rained on the entire time.

My DH is from Cali   and no, I've never heard of anyone disliking Californians simply because they are from Cali.

It is beautiful here. Most the school systems suck though. If I remember correctly, Wilsonville, West Linn and Lake Oswego (all between Salem and Portland) are the better school districts.

I've always lived in suburbs outside of Portland and I love it.

Portlanders are weird,lol. That's ok according to some people,us people here in springfield are hillbilly rednecks :-P

I've only ever passed through Springfield on my way to Klamath, which is, no doubt, much more hillbilly redneck than Springfield

It is pretty much overcast and/or rainy from September til April or May. But I LOVE the Portland summers...75 and sunny pretty much every day.

Haha, my parents live there so I get to visit the armpit that is Klamath a couple times a year
