I would get "safe foods" to snack on. I love to snack in the evenings, it is my biggest weakness. I stock up things that I can eat my weight in without gaining weight. Grapes, carrots, rice cakes, pineapple, oranges... things like that so that I don't feel deprived. You can also make some bad ass ice cream out of just frozen bananas. You can add seasoning (I like the salsa ranch seasoning in a packet) to a thing of Greek yogurt for a high protein, fat free veggie dip. I buy carrots that are sliced like chips so I feel like it's the real deal.
For me, the only way I succeed is if I don't feel like I am on a diet. If I do, I will just throw my hands up and binge. Sometimes, I want to snack mindlessly and so I do...but on foods that won't make the scale jump.
