No expired license... Can I renew days before my 21st bday

In Texas... I've googled the hell out of this and can't seem to find anything. My bday is on the 22nd... Could I renew it even if it isn't expired?

Yes you can. Sometimes they will charge a fee though. Like $7. I always wait until mine expires. Not sure how old you are, but if its your 21st birthday then if you renew before the date they don't flip it sideways and it will still have the "under 21" band across it

ETA- durrrrrr your age is in the subject lol.

You should be able to because it changes the restrictions on it, but I know here in GA you have to wait until after your birthday for the changes to take effect or it'll just kick out another restricted license.

I'm sure that you can, but it will still be turned vertical and have the red "under 21" band across it for the next 4 years.

i am pretty sure it would still say under 21 on it though. so why not wait till after your birthday?

So if I go next Friday and ask for a renewal it still give me a under 21 license?

It shouldn't matter. It's built into the computer. They put your DOB in and it's going to spit out an "Under 21" license. If you wait til right after your birthday, it'll change it.
