You've been here a smurfing month and you've seen so many of these posts?
You work for a smurffy place if it's filled with paramedics who know a pregnant woman is 70% effaced at 30 weeks and they are letting you lift 400 lb people. I am pretty sure it would be illegal to make you do that. OR you could go on short term disability. BECAUSE YOU ARE RISKING YOUR CHILDS HEALTH.

If you were 70% effaced at 30 weeks, and continued to work (which you said your Dr was not happy about) then yes, you DID endanger your child. It turned out okay, I'm glad, but it might not have. Being effaced at 30 weeks is a risk. Continuing to do the work you do is not a smart choice since you were already at risk. It seemed to turn out okay, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a risk, and it doesn't mean it wasn't dangerous.

I'm not going against my doctors advice. He isn't thrilled about it but he has cleared me to work. I don't feel the need to look for other options, I love what I do and have had no problems doing it while pregnant. I used my job as more of an example to show what we we as pregnant women are capable of.

What YOU are capable of. Also, what made you high risk (70% effaced at 30 weeks could have easily turned into a preemie).

YOU are not OTHER women. Had I done that, I'd have another preemie. If a woman with a sciatic nerve problem did that, they might get someone killed because they weren't able to do something fast enough in an emergency.

You cannot apply YOUR circumstances to other peoples. All this is about is you wanting praise. Forget that. You don't get praise because you kept at a job that was risking your baby. I'm VERY VERY glad that you did not end up with a preemie, but you might not have been so lucky. Women shouldn't do things just because people like you feel they should.

If a woman doesn't have to work, then it's really no ones business if she doesn't want to. If she hurts and finds another option. I find you pretty silly up there on your high horse over what other women you don't know choose to do.

Shoot, i get pains, cramping, and short of breath just grocery shopping. I have flat feet,. tendinitis and I am missing cartilage in my ankles. Not to mention i am not really "in shape" so average things make me super uncomfortable.

You are used to doing your job so it may not bother you, as for me average things have me so much more uncomfortable than my last 2 pregnancies.

Just because your in pain for doing your job doesn't mean someone else who has a less physically demanding job doesn't experience MORE pain than you. Every person has a different body, different needs, and higher or lower pain tolerance than the next.

I agree, i was on bedrest up until the last few weeks, for bleeding and contractions from 11 to 20 weeks. Miserable, I am much more out of shape now then I was.

Have trouble sleeping because I was always in my bed.
Short breathe
Standing up and walking feels like a core muscle workout,
I get light headed and, hot flashes, and want to pass out. My body has to adjust from coming off bedrest.

I'm not looking for praise lol. Simply wondering what happened to people's work ethic. I will agree with u that if you don't have to work to provide for yourself and child then stop, no big deal. The people I am referring to are not that blessed, if they were they wouldn't be complaining about having to work.

And about me being 70% effaced at 30 weeks, I am delighted that u cared enough to check out my profile and past posts  ). Just so everyone knows I am still at 70% and now 1cm dilated.

Like I said, I am SO HAPPY that you didn't end up having the baby early. As a mom who went through a very long hospital stay with my preemie, I know it is not an experience I'd wish on anyone. However, you have to realize that it WAS a risk. A pretty big one. That isn't work ethic, it's determining what's most important to you. You made a choice, but others making a different choice is different.

And now I'd like to call you out on this stupid stuff you say. It started with you being mad about women who complain about working when they don't work hard jobs. Then it was women without complications. Then it was women who couldn't afford to quit. Now it's work ethic. I think you realize you don't really have a point. Why is it YOUR business?

Again, pain can be debilitating. I have Fibro, I understand pain, lol. Even if a woman doesn't have any complications that risk the baby, PAIN in and of itself can be horrid. Who are you to demand anything of a pregnant woman you don't know? How do you have any idea her pain level, or any idea of what she's dealing with? You don't know, so you have no place at all to even have a judgement let alone an opinion.

Some people work even if it risks their babies. Other people make things work so they can quit their job for their quality of life. They are two different choices, but neither one makes a woman bad.

No I'm still frustrated about the same topic. Why do some pregnant women feel that being pregnant gives them an excuse to be lazy? I mentioned the other topics due to them being brought up by other people posting. I wanted to make sure that I made it clear that complications and being put on bed rest does not fit into what I am trying to say. I don't understand why it seems that as soon as the two pink lines show up on a pregnancy test that some women become weak, and no longer want to work. They say its "too hard". That's life. You deal with it when it comes. To those who are fortunate to not have to work while pregnant that is fine, they are not the ones that post and complain about how hard it is.

Quoting Smartass *TNTC*:" You shouldn't be lifting anyone being pregnant And sitting in a chair 40 hours a week pregnant is VERY uncomfortable."

Get a better chair. I work in a doctor's office about 50 hours a week and most of it, i'm sitting. Its not that uncomfortable. I usually make it to the last 2 hours of my shift before my back starts hurting.

yes they are, haha. And just because a person HAS to work, why are they not allowed to complain? If they hurt, why can't they complain that they hurt? You're a joke. Seriously, why is it your business? Being pregnant SUCKS. You have no idea the amount of pain any other woman is in, so you really don't know at all how she feels. Just because YOU are capable of something doesn't mean others are. Get over it for smurfs sake.

You're as bad as women who talk about "if you get an epidural it's just because you're a wuss. Women need to man up and not get one. I didn't need one, thus any woman who DOES is just being stupid."

Look, you aren't other people, so how about you STFU and stop judging other women.

Why do you complain so much?   Unless they're whining to your face everyday all day then it has nothing to do with you. Get a hobby or something.

I have posted my rant and feel better now. I still completely stand by my opinion and feel no hard feelings toward u or anyone else who has posted. I think it's funny that people are "complaining about my complaining about other people's complaining".

I truly don't complain much as noted by my 20ish posts and the fact that people are always asking me how I'm feeling and the answer is "blessed". Get a hobby or something,.. This coming from the lady that has 70000 posts on here.
