Yea I have it pretty good. I have a desk job so I know I will be able to work all throughout the rest of my pregnancy unless something *God forbid* happens all of a sudden....but I still have pains that I complain about. Mostly back pain because I have ankles that roll inward so I have back pain NOT being pregnant anyways....but I always try to look on the bright side. I feel really bad for women with complications like you had, cerclages, bleeding, nausea throughout, etc....so I consider myself very lucky and try to think of that when I start to complain. But really, pregnancy isn't easy for anyone and everyone has a right to complain without putting down or making others feel bad about complaining!

Exactly! If you're sick and miserable, the fact that someone else was sick enough to be hospitalized doesn't make your sickness any LESS miserable, and sometimes people just need to complain for a minute. Why try to compare it. Why try to say "I have it worse, so others shouldn't complain!" Why does it even matter what is worse? It's just so pointless. lol

And i meant to add that even though I'd gone through having a preemie and the NICU adn all, when I was 35 weeks I was smurfing MISERABLE. lol. I hurt, and I was tired of it all, and it sucks! The fact that I'd rather do that then have a NICU baby didn't make it any less miserable. It still sucked and I still wanted to bitch and moan because I hurt. haha

Sure you have to work.....but not necessarily THAT job....there should have been plenty of time to find another job while you weren't showing right? I mean there are other options, just maybe not the most convenient or lucrative. Do you have a husband? Or SO??

If light duty were a possibility that would be nice but it's not. Also I'm very thankful for a healthy pregnancy and have done nothing that I feel has put my baby at risk. I'm not trying to say my job is harder than anyone else's but a lot of pregnant women get this "I can't do anything physical because I'm pregnant" attitude. It bums me out that it makes us look weak and like we need people to take care of us and baby us.

People who've never been on bedrest seem to think it's this giant picknick where your only adversary is boredom, boo hoo! Little to they know you stop being able to smurf properly, get bed sores, hips out of joint, going to the bathroom makes you breathless and feel like your heart is going to pop out of your chest, or even the emotional toll of not being able to feed yourself if you wanted and relying completely on other people to provide for your basic necessities......oh ya a real piece of cake, hahaha. I've never been so uncomfortable as I was on bedrest!

Seriously. ANd you get SO WEAK. 10 weeks flat on your back KILLS you body. Your muscles end up crap. Everything hurts. OMG I don't even want to think about that. It was seriously horrible. Better then the NICU I'll admit, but just barely. *shudders*

Why would it bum you out? lol. Some women use it to their "advantage" I guess but a lot of other women are concerned about the health of their child. I didn't need everyone to baby me but I sure as hell wouldn't have been lifting 400 pound people while pregnant because that would have been too risky.

If your doctor is saying it's not healthy for you then you should be able to get some kind of accommodation from your work. Or find a "desk job" until you have your LO. You don't want a baby in the NICU.

But you were trying to say that your job was harder than other people's, in fact that was the exact comparison you were making......nice attempt at backtracking. And whether or not you FEEL you were putting your baby at risk, you WERE putting your baby at risk, there is no way that lifting 200 lbs is EVER acceptable while 3rd trimester pregnant, especially if you're already effacing. But I guess you can tell yourself whatever helps you sleep at night.

So you're concern is how you "look?" Maybe other women just have better options then yuo. You SHOULDN'T be working, especially not taht job. Not with your complications. You've ignored that advice. Other women choose not to, and that doesn't make them weak. It means they have different options, and made a different choice.

I don't care if people think I look weak, I'm not going to do somethign I feel is dangerous just because I'm afraid of how strangers will view me, and thus all pregnant women.

Yes I am married to a wonderful man that also works in EMS. He doesn't like the fact that I am still working but he has supported my decision.
