We appreciate everyone’s interest in accurate information regarding our recall. Below are some key points to help explain the situation and what to do.


WHY IS THERE A RECALL:
We have initiated a voluntary recall due to the possible presence of fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part. Only packages of Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size with the letters “KB”, “AP” or “FK” before or after the Best If Used Before date are included in the recall.

HOW TO READ THE CODE:
The first two letters before or after the Best If Used Before date sequence are the key identifiers.

Only packages of Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size with the letters “KB”, “AP” or “FK” before or after the listed Best If Used Before dates are included in the recall. Please see the list at the top of this post for the Best If Used Before Dates included in the recall.

Packages with "KP", “KPA”, “KPB”, "KPC" designations are NOT included in the recall. Likewise, packages with “KN”, “KNA”,"KNB" or “KL”,”KLA”, "KLB" designations are NOT included in the recall.

HOW TO GET PURCHASE REPLACED:
If you have affected product, or are unsure if your package is included in the recall, you can call 800-962-1413 from 8 am to 6 pm Eastern Time, Monday – Friday to arrange replacement of your purchase.

OTHER CONCERNS
We understand and apologize for your concern. According to Dr. David Acheson, an internal medicine physician and former Chief Medical Officer at the FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) with whom we consulted, the likelihood of these fragments making their way into the food is low; furthermore, the chances that any affected food will cause injury is low.

No, frosted and unfrosted. Any of them with the UPC's above. It's only certain UPC's.

You should be okay   I don't think there have been any reports of injury or anything yet but I could be wrong.

I was mad when I first read this, because I just bought two boxes. Lucky me, both are good  


EDIT***** Damn I just double checked and my dyslexic ass saw the UPC wrong... One box is recalled, but atleast it is unopened, and I still have one good box. Thanks so much for the info. I would be pissed if I ate some, then found out.

I just got some from wicked yesterday and my kids ate almost the whole box today. What do I do?
