Getting a Tattoo

posted 11th Oct
Obviously this will happen after my daughter is born...But I was thinking of getting a couple tattoos in remembrance of my husband.

My question is, how much do they hurt? I'm a total scaredy cat when it comes to needles. If the pain was absolutely intense, I don't know if I'd be able to get one without totally freaking out. For those of you who have tattoos, how much did they hurt and how long did they hurt for? And would you get two at once?

They don't hurt that bad. It depends where on your body you get them. Yes I would get two at once. If you can have a kid you can manage a tattoo.

I have 7 tatoos, I got the one on my back, and the one on my neck at the same time, and for me, the shading hurt the worst on all of them lol. It just depends on what you want and where you want it on how much it will hurt. On bone hurts more than fatty areas...

Yeah they use more needles at a time for shading.

They don't hurt all that bad. It feels like a cat scratch and a sunburn while it heals. My first was on my ribs (takes up a good portion) and I made it through 3.5 hrs of it jarring my bones before finally crying lol. I have 8 total and my calves hurt the most because I bruise easily so I was walking with two large bruises on either side of my leg

I'd like to get one on my back, right in the middle, and a little one on my wrist...The one on my back would be color, but the one on my wrist would not. I'm really, really glad to hear that it somebody else with a needle-phobia can get a tattoo...

I got 3 done at home, and even with one needle the shading still hurt like a bitch lol, especially on my hip.

I have one on my wrist, and it pretty much tickled lol. I barely felt it. The one on my neck is on my spine, and that sucks, but honestly it still wasnt that bad.

I only have one. It's right below my collar bone, above my left breast. It's about the size of a BIC lighter. It took about 45 mins.
It didn't hurt, it was just more uncomfortable while he was doing different stuff. The shading kind of felt good, imo lol.
The sound of the gun freaked me out and I thought it was going to really hurt.
But like PPs said it depends on where you get them or how high your pain tolerance is.

I didn't think mine really even hurt. It felt exactly like scratching a sunburned area. Annoying, but completely ignorable.
