pulling up

posted 11th Oct
DS will be 9 months next thursday. He pulls onto his knees but cant pull up to his feet. I guess I dont have anything high enough for him to grip...the couch is leather so his hands just slip off and we have no tables. He trys to pull up on the table chairs but that about his chest height so I dont think thats helping. Is there anything I can get that he can pull up onto and when you LO started pulling up how long after they "tried" pulling up did they start cruising. DS can stand for like 30 seconds after that he freaks out and falls but he wont cruise if we put him on the couch he stands there...didnt know if that makes a difference.

Also if we let DS pull up while holding our hands he gets onto his feet but it takes time.

Im baby proofing and everything in the living room is "cruising" distance lol so I wanna make it to were he wont cruise on the tv stand.

This won't be much help, but my advice is to let him take his time. I only say that because pulling up leads to walking before you know it and while yes, it's super exciting, it gets so crazy once they walk and climb! DS started cruising within days of pulling up and he would pull up on anything he could... toys, the couch, the wall, anything.

ETA: Maybe if you let him pull up with your hands (like how you would help someone up, but let him do the work) he will feel more secure.

My DS started pulling up two weeks ago and now he's cruising no problem! Trust me you want to enjoy the peace, nowhere is safe now he can pull up and reach it!x

My son started pulling up at 7 months, and he started cruising a couple days later.

All babies develop differently, he will do it when he is ready!

Im taking my time. I dont want to rush lol. My god daughter cruised for 3 months and she walked cause I made her (oops). I stood her in the middle of the room and shook my phone in front of her and she walked all the way to the couch, her mom was happy cause she didnt have to tote her no more. I tarted walking at 9 months and I fear DS will be an early walker. I have been letting him pull up on my hands when he wants me to pick him up but I wanted something sturdy that he can pull up on whenever he gets ready. He kinda gets frustrated with the chair

DS was an early walker and because of that, he's been able to climb since he was about 14 months. He's 23 months almost now and he scares the crap out of me... turn around to put a dish in the sink and he's trying to reach what's on top of the fridge! Ugh BOYS lol. But, yeah, your lil guy will do it all of the sudden one day and then there's no turning back! I can barely hold DS at all nowadays, so enjoy every second! Sounds like he's right on track and doing fine to me
