What do you mean by light and dark? There is a ver light line in the result window? Or the urine colored it and it is very light compared to the control window?

I took the test and in the result window I got a faint negative and in the control window I got a very dark line. Usually when I take a pregnancy test the lines appear to be the same shade.

The color of the lines has noting to do with it. It is all in the number of lines in the result window. I wish you the best of luck as you continnue to TTC. But line color has nothing to do with it unless the coloring of the result one is so faint you feel there could be another line next to it saying it is positive but it is faint ot the human eye. I say if you dont get your period test again it could have been a crummy test to begin with. They do have margin for error and are man made so... Good Luck

I know the coloring has nothing to do with it. I am wondering if the test is false..
Btw I am not TTC.

I am sry I assumed my mistake. And yes the test could be false like I said there is always possibilities for error expecially since they are man made and man is not perfect. If you dont get your period test again. I mean you would think the test worked because of the control line being there but sometimes that doesnt mean a thing. There is such a thing as false negatives too when women can test and test and test at home and never get a positive test and go in months down the road because they dont end up with their period and qustion it and the Drs order a regular urine AND blood test done and thats when they find out. Then they get ultrasounds done to see how far along they are and they are farther than they think because all those home tests kept telling them wrong. Some people just dont register on home pregnancy tests. And some pregnancies dont register I had a friend who took a test that came out neg and she was 2 and a half months along. So try again in a week or so if nothing happens and then if nothing contines to happen and the test still comes back neg give your Dr a call and let them know somehting isnt right (unless of course your irregular as it is).

Mine is negative. Whenever I have taken a pregnancy test and got a negative they have shown up dark or the same shade as the line in the control window.
