Fever

My DD will be 2 years old in December. She is rarely sick. At 3pm my daughter had a fever of 101.4 . I called her pediatric office and left a message for the nurse. They closed at 5 and I never got a call back. I gave her a dose of Tylenol and gave her a bath (obviously not too warm of one). Her other symptoms are runny nose, achy, fever, hardly eating and drinking. About 45 minutes after I gave her Tylenol, her temperature was 98.9. She started playing with her toys and chatting away like her normal self for a few hours. At 7pm (right now), her temperature went back up to 100.9 and just looks like she isn't feeling well. She had a normal stool this morning and had about 5-6 wet diapers (not as full as usual though but still wet). I'm trying to get her to drink some Pedilyte. Is this ER worthy? Should I just keep an eye on her throughout the night and call her pediatrician as soon as they open? Like I said before, she is rarely ever sick. The last time she had a fever this high was when she was 4 months old. She's so miserable. Help please. I'll take any advice that will help her feel better.

Not ER worthy at all. We don't even treat until 102. Just do what you've been doing. Keep checking her temp and keep her cool and hydrated. All you really can do. Remember low fevers are good sign that she is fighting something

Okay. Thank you so much! I feel so bad that she doesn't feel good. I wish there was more I could do for her. I gave her a damp cool wash cloth and I keep patting her neck and face with it. I'm so hormonal that I'm crying! Lol!
