Weepiness

posted 10th Oct
NO QUOTING PLEASE.

When does this weepiness go away?! It's driving me so so crazy. I feel like my hormones are everywhere! I tear up or cry over anything. And I feel so insecure lately too. Especially when it comes to SO or anything. And I have NO reason to be insecure when it comes to him. At all.

I'm only 2 weeks PP so I know I need to give it time.. Just ready to feel normal again emotionally.

My emotions were so all over the place, I had postpartum depression, it was horrible   it started to get a bit better at 6 weeks (about the time I started to bond with DS) but maybe was quite bad til about 10 weeks... still gets me a bit now at 12 weeks PP but it's nothing compared to what it was and I have friends who had it worse so they have helped me through it
I remember the nurse who did my check ups asking me 'if I'd had my cry today.' Sounded strange at the time but it's completely normal to feel weepy or overwhelmed, your hormones are all over the place, that and sleep-deprivation and looking after a newborn can take it's toll!

Usually baby blues do settle around 6 weeks, maybe sooner depending on the person, that's when your hormones start to settle.

If it gets really too much speak to someone it could be PPD, which is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of!

I just feel weepy cause I'm alone a majority of the day! And it's not everyday. Only sometimes does it bother me. I don't feel anything else other than that. I talked to my doctor and they said it doesn't sound like PPD. Just normal hormones.
I just hate feeling weepy lol. It's the most irritating feeling ever. Grrrrr.

I'm not at the point where it feels like it's too much, just venting I suppose! I don't feel weird toward DD either. I am completely bonding normally with her. I have only cried a few times over these past few weeks. It's just that weepy feeling that is irritating, you know?! Thank you for your reply.

Aw that's good!! I found it hard when SO went back to work, but don't worry you find a way to manage things and get into a routine, it takes a few weeks to get used to the changes.
Just have a good cry, always made me feel better

I remember being a hormonal mess the first time around until probably 8ish weeks pp. It's normal and just part of the fun of having a baby. They'll have you fill out a questionaire at your 6 week pp visit to make sure you don't have PP depression.

I remember feeling very out of control. I would laugh and cry and then bounce back and forth. I was worried that I was never going to feel normal again. Eventually though, for most of us, it does go away and things do return to 'normal'.
