Current world events?

DH has been watching a lot of news and doing research online.
He said that a few days(or weeks, I can't remember) ago Iran announced that within 6 months their nuclear program would be completed, and that basically means an attack on Israel.
Well, Iran=oil, which would mean gas prices go up, and job layoffs because of the economy. DH thinks he'd get laid off and that we'd be stuck here (21 hours away from his family). So he suspended his 401k so we'll have an extra $200 a month and he said he's gonna start putting that into an emergency "move" savings.

Anyway, he's also been reading and apparently there is a trend of big smurf in the world (attacks, invasions) happening around the presidential elections, so now he's freaking out about that too.
He said that since we're allies with Israel and Iran is allies with Russia we're pretty much smurfed if/when the government gets involved in all this. Apparently Russia has submarines somewhere off the coast of the Atlantic.

Anyway...IDK if he's overreacting or being "overprepared" with this whole thing...
I've never been much involved in world events like this, my TV is either off or on sesame street...lol.

I don't believe he is over reacting seeing as how the world is right now. The Arab Spring and a few other things are bringing about what could be WWIII.

North Korea fired on South Korea, so SK is building longer range missles.

Japan and China are in a territory dispute that could lead to fighting.

Pakistan and Turkey are firing across the border at each other.

Benghazi WAS a planned terrorist attack against the US.

Iran and Israel are both about to have nukes and will use them against eachother.

I could go on and on.

My DH is starting to get a little freaked out by it all too. I'm trying not to worry unless there's something i can actively do about it...

You can prep. Find a place away from the city, store food and water, store ammunition, tobacco and alcohol (used for bartering), and take a wilderness survival course.

To know that he's not like, completely whacko about all this.

His parents live in Arkansas on a farm with 20 acres and plenty of guns and he has hunting and survival skills.

DH is wanting to start buying supplies as soon as i get this job and i think we'd be headed to his parents farm. Although they do live by a huge military base...

If you said he was preparing for the zombie crap, then I would have said he's crazy. I think he's being smart about it.

Like the farm in season 2 of Walking Dead.

We are also stockpiling gas for the generator to run only the freezer, you never know when food will walk thru your property

Forgot to add, we also have heritage seeds which are not genetically modified so we can grow our own food if we are in it for the long haul.

I buried a lot of stuff on the land we have so I don't have to transport everything if there is no more gasoline.
