Vent

We have inspections every two months where we are staying, which is all fine and dandy. We have a maid who comes over and helps me deep clean every two weeks (windows, carpets, floors stuff like that) and I keep it picked up and clutter free. I dust every week and trash is taken out daily, it's clean here, I guess is my point. We don't smoke in the house and nothing has been spilled on the floor since we've been here. This is why I cannot figure out why we failed our inspection yesterday! They came in, walked around, went upstairs, walked around, then left, not saying a word. That was our first inspection, so I thought maybe that's just how they do things. Then, I get a call today saying we failed inspection and everything needs to be cleaned by the 23rd and they will be here either the 24th or 25th. I just don't understand??? The manager isn't answering his phone so I can't ask what failed and he hung up before I could ask earlier. We keep this house very clean, I'm OCD about it (Lord help me if we ever have a kid) so it's insulting to be told my house is filthy and needs to be cleaned

The only "outside" we have that is ours only is the storage shed, which is empty, we've never even opened it, and neither did they. There is a welcome mat outside each door, but they are brand new, so they aren't trashy. The only vehicle here at the time was mine, and it's an 06 and is clean. I have no idea what's up. Even my closet is organized, SOs too. Our roommate cleaned their room beforehand and I walked through to make sure all was good in his room, and it was. If we don't pass, we have to pay for their cleaning service, any repairs (broken blinds blah blah blah) and we are at risk of losing our lease.

What kind of place does inspections every 2 months... thats nuts! Yeah Id be calling and asking what the hell failed because that sounds like its complete bs!!!

It's an apartment complex, not the place of our choice, but we were wanting somewhere near our family, near work and it's what was available. There are some low income (I think section 8 or something like that???) so I guess they do it to prevent their apartments from being ruined? I'm not entirely sure, but I knew we kept a clean house, so I wasn't worried about it when I read the lease. I didn't know it was this annoying though. Our cars have been broken into four times, we had someone rip two screens trying to find an unlocked window, and you can see where someone tried breaking in by trying to get something between the latch and door frame. I'm counting down the months, if it wouldn't hurt our credit, I'd fail on purpose and let them kick us out.
