Sippy cup intervention

My son will be 3 in February & is ridiculously dependent on his sippy cup. He carries it everywhere, refuses to drink out of a normal cup & even uses the sippy as a pacifier... he will just walk around sucking on it and won't take it out of his mouth to talk, he just talks around it. It drives me crazy!
Sure I could just throw them all away & leave him no choice but I have a 13 month old daughter that also uses a sippy cup & he has no problem snatching hers right from her hand.
The kid needs an intervention & I'm not sure how to go about it.

can you get him a REALLY awesome regular cup that he would be excited to try? What sort off things does he like?

why don't you just get rid of the sippys and switch to straws ?

That's a good idea... he's a huge fan of trucks, trains etc so maybe I can find a regular cup with those things on them.

I got LO a bunch of Cars regular cups when I wanted to get her away from sippys, of course it was easier for me since she wasn't around one all the time. She threw a fit the first couple times I said no, but got over it.

That is all we use. Or we do open cups now that A is 2 but yeap yeap.

I think I'll try letting him pick out some regular cups on his own and see how well it goes. Thanks!

Get him a super awesome big boy cup. My daughter loves her thermos, it has a pop up straw.
