Pembroke welsh corgi! We raised them for years. Absolutely love them. Theyre a big dog in a smal dogs body. you can play rough with them and they wont brake. They also love to exercise but are happy to just lay on the couch with you too.

Yes!   I agree! Mine loves kids and is so gentle with my niece and nephew!

Like I said my mom raised them so weve had 30+ over the years and Im still not sick of them

we have a pit bull boxer mix and she is the best natured dog you could ever ask for! she let our kids play and pull on her and woller her around. love her to death. this is a pic of her when we moved lol

Chloe was a corgi/dauchsund mix and she was amazing. But they need a yard to run around as do most dogs, so make sure you are ready to take them on frequent walks a few times a day.

i wouldnt get an adult dog from a shelter if you have a young child, unless you know its history. you dont know if it was raised around kids or not.

we have a schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle) and hes great with our girls and the baby, but hes been raised around them. just about any dog can be good with kids, given the right enviroment. i had a pittbull/boxer/german shepard as my first dog and she was fantastic. my parents had a doberman when i was little and he was great too.

If you're going to adopt, don't go in with a specific breed in mind. Decide what you want as far as size, temperament, exercise, and grooming and go meet some dogs. Bring the kid along and ask for help introducing them. The shelter employees will probably be able to point you in the right direction for a few suitable ones.

LOL! so cute!!!! When I was younger and we would move, I would sit in the back seat and my dog sits in the front with my dad. My dad said no, let tigger sit in the front, he has to guide me in the right direction.. I'm like er ..
