re: Claire or Clare?

I love Claire. It's the name of one of my favorite book characters. =)

Both are correct spellings. Clare is Irish and Claire is French. Another correct variation is Clair.

Claire for a girl. Clare is a boy's name. I have always loved this name and wanted to use it as a middle name, but my niece's middle name is Claire so we can't use it. Oh well, at least we have a second choice we like

I didn't even think of that! My grandmother is full French and she use to sing "Au Clair De La Lune" to me all the time. I sang it in high school for my regional auditions. The first half I did in French, the second in English. I ALMOST made regionals! I was 2 points off lol
