My ex was like that. He wasn't supportive at all, it really sucked.
I told him to smurf off. Idk if that's the best approach though, but he deserved it.

That's how my whole family was. My current SO said he would be supportive of any decision I made.

Tell him to F off!   My MIL always made a big deal about me breastfeeding DD at 16/18 months and so I weaned her but I deeply regret it. She would always say she is going to be 5 and still on the boob and bring up the movie Grown Ups and The Back-Up plan.

No, I ignored him and found another support group. I got heavily involved with my local Le Leche League. It was great, it gave me social interactin and a place to ask for advice and complain about bf issues.

I ended up nursing my oldest to 3 and my middle to 4yrs

I doubt LO will want to go until 5 years old haha. I'm not sure what I'll tell family if we continue for awhile. Maybe just that we're going to keep BFing until DS wants to stop and if they say well what if it's until he's 5? I'll just say yeah I doubt it.

I would tell him to F off. Its nobodys buisness but your own so you nurse him however long you and your LO are comfortable with.

It is your choice, but at the same time if he doesn't really understand you can't expect a ton of support from him about it. I'd suggest you not complain to him about it. You can BF as long as you adn the child want, and if he has a problem with him tell him that's too bad for him. You hope you gets over his hang ups about it because you'll continue. Again though, just don't discuss these problems with him, because he's going to feel like you should just quit.
