Taking kids to gender ultrasound

posted 10th Oct
I have two kids a 4 year old girl and almost 3 year old boy. They are very active in my pregnancy. my 3 year old asked where babies came from were my 4 year old will wake up and be sad and run over to me because she forgot to give the baby akiss goodnight. they are both very interested in gender all though they both say its a girl. I want them to go with me to see the ultrasound and see what the gender is. has anyone ever done it before? how did it work for you?

If you have another adult with you it should be fine, if you don't then I would not just because it would be too hard to keep an eye on them.

I don't know about that young. I don't see how it would be a problem, as long as you had someone with you to watch them while you're up on the table gettin jellied up.

I would recommend taking another adult with you to help out...though at first it is really cool to them, over time they can become disinterested.
I have five kids and with each anatomy scan, my kids went...with my last pregnancy (#5), I had four kids in there   They loved it, but did get bored after about ten minutes. MIL and DH were there to help.

Novali has been with me every step of the way. And yes, she was very excited to see the US. It's best if you have an adult with you to help you watch your kids. Novali is 5.

My SIL always took her kids with her to see the US. She just had her fourth.

I don't know why it would ever be a problem.

I have taken my daughter to every appt so far. I always have someone else with me but she loves being involved and i think it will help with the jealousy. She loves the ultrasound appts so she can see her baby brother.

I have a two year old and she wasn't allowed at my 20 week scan. It was just the policy. It broke my heart that she wasn't there. DH is going to bring her in for my next one in November.

My mom and not even two year old (at the time) was with me. As soon as he seen the baby on the screen he said "ooh bubba!" and it was a boy lol.

He was very interested in the screen, if you don't have an adult to help with them, I don't think I'd take them.

We decided not too because my 4 year old seen ultrasound pictures of the baby before and she had nightmares lol she told me it was the scariest thing she had ever seen. but that's just my little girl. As much as I would have liked her there, we had also found out some bad news about our baby at that scan. So, I was happy we didn't take them. But she loved the surprise pink mini cake we brought home to tell her it was a girl. I dont think she would have understood what was really happening at the doctor anyways.
