Each school and teacher is a little different. You can always talk to the school you plan to send him to next year and find out what they want him to know before kindergarden and what they want him to know by the end of kindergarden to get into the first grade and start working on it that way.

Well, luckily for me my nephews went to this school in pre-k and my son will be joining them next year in this other school.
