37 weeks and becoming increasingly impatient.

posted 10th Oct
Everything's exactly as the title said, I have finally reached 37 weeks and 3 days so Im term and I just want to say out frustration and discomfort "Bring On The Labour." I honestly can say i want to go back to rolling over in my bed and not being woken up from sciatic back pain, the things they don't like to share in magazines and some of the books, you gain a woddle alright but also you gain pains and cramping and the fluid retention leaves you feeling like a beached whale when you can't walk anymore and it's a lie when they say you should only gain 10 kilo's I gained 20... though i dont look like it. Basically I'm having a little bit of a rant. apologies if my grammars crashed along the way.

Omg I know all about the heartburn, have you found that occasionally that your heartburn makes you throw up? because seriously it's happened to me a few times.

The sciatica pain is the worst! It's currently 3:40 am here... I haven't been able to sleep all night due to sciatica pain and the fact that every time I lie on one side the little boy decides that's the side he wants to kick me on... :/ this end bit is NO fun, I have everything ready but I'd love to keep cleaning more but I swear I can't do 1/2 the things I want to since I'm just so sore and huge these days! :/

try propping yourself up using some pillows that seems to help me out but for the sciatic pain the only thing i've found that works is a hot shower and somtimes a walk.

I always sleep propped up on pillows... I've just been extra uncomfortable tonight... I took a hot shower earlier tonight which allowed me to get some sleep from like 8-10:45 but that's about it.. :/ Maybe in a few hours I'll get more comfortable when my husband gets up and leaves for class and I can take over the whole bed... but it's not usually about having all the space, but idk since I'm just extra uncomfortable tonight/ today :/

Thanks   I'm sure it will.. I've started cramping up a bit in the last hour so maybe it's just getting close to being time for him to get here and that's why I've been so uncomfortable... we'll see tho

Im due oct. 17th and for the past two weeks i've tried everything to induce labor. Skipping around, early pumping to stimulate the milk, sex, I even tried caster oil last night. It only gave me horrible cramps last night I was almost in tears. I only have intense pressure on my cervix that if I move I get sharp pains like my water is about to pop. So Im not sure theres anything you really can do to speed things up.

I have a few friends who are midwives/ nurses/ medical students and all of them say that caster oil is the WORST thing you can do to try and induce labor... it usually causes more problems than actually helping anything... so I'd be careful to not take any more of that... the best things to help move labor along/ jump start it are sex and walking... but the baby will come when the baby comes...

Sleep, sleep, sleep whenever you can these last few weeks! I know it's mega-uncomfortable sleeping while pregnant but I promise you'll get more sleep now than you will with a newborn. I have scoliosis and my son was very active in the womb so I was up a lot but damn, those nights were like heaven compared to having him bawl every 1-2 hours. He is worth it, obviously, but it is nice to have a baby that sleeps almost normally now. lol

But yeah, anyway, get rest whenever you get the chance and enjoy these final weeks. Congratulations and hope labor goes smoothly!
