C section question

I had my daughter last Monday by emergency c section and since then I keep having horrible shivering fits. It feels like I'm freezing to death but when I take my temperature I don't have a fever so I don't think my incision is infected it looks like it's healing well aside from the soreness. Has any other c section mommy had this?

You would have a fever if you had an infection. It is more likely that it is because the pregnancy hormones are leaving your body. I did have that problem, but only while in the hospital on pain killers.

Well I'm out of the.hospital but on pain killers could that be it?

Possibly... but I sincerely doubt it... Like I said, it's very common for that to happen after giving birth due to rapid hormonal changes. But if you're worried, just call the Dr's exchange.

i never got cold but i got EXTREMELY hot...crazy hot flashes. i think its your body trying to adjust to everything that just went on. hopefully you feel better soon!  

I would go from freezing to over heated. I don't think it was from the c-section itself, it was probably the pain meds plus overexertion.

Ya minute I'm freezing and don't wanna get out from under the covers the next I'm sweating like crazy
