Quoting kayla19900:" im currently 41 weeks 1 day and nowhere near labour,i had my membranes stripped yesterday and it felt ... [snip!] ... strip,i know c-section carries risks but i really feel that its the best option for me. just need some advice please tia x"

I should read the first 5 pages first... but.. why not opt for induction first? c-s hurts... it's surgery. They cut you open, take a baby out, and close you back up. It's NOT the easiest route. then you have to recover, heal etc...

ok- caught up now.

cervical ripening and induction... definitely first before opting for a c-section. I'd be leery of any doctor that lets me choose a section just because i'm overdue and didn't like how the membrane sweep went.

that said... you must be doing something.. or they coudln't do a membrane sweep. If you're high and closed... they couldnt' get a finger in to sweep the membranes. They ahve to actually stick a finger or more into your cervix to separate the membrane from the cervix... which releases the hormones to move labor along.

I know a girl who went to the doctor on a Friday they said she was two maybe three.cm and it could be a while before she went into labor she went into l&d.on Saturday and had her baby u never know.plus ur due date could always be wring it's just an estimate nothing u should truly count on but try induction first I'm sure taking care if a screaming newborn.is no.fun while u.have stitches all the way across UT abdomen!!!!!! Ok this may sound weird or funny butttt..... If you are trying everything to get labor going ....tip sex with ur man may never work get in the shower and get urself off u can do it better than a man ... It just may work seeing as its a no stress involved, fully concentrated act .... Its better than a c.....
