re: Engagement rings or sets

This is my engagement. It's small and simple, just like I like them! The wedding ring is gold also, but has a garnet in it. My birthstone.

I don't have my ring yet but I like the vintage look.

I local jeweler and will never buy from them again. They screwed up to many times on my warranty and I found out the owner was selling some fake rubies.

Here are mine. He picked out my engagement ring and then once we got married he took me to the store to pick out the band and I picked the one that goes with it.

My engagement ring is a white gold band with a 1/4 ct princess cut diamond. Sorry cant post a pic cuz Im on my phone... :/

Its pretty plain cuz we had a very specific amount to spend and all the ones in our budget were plain. Lol I like it tho, it serves its purpose.

Thank you! When I picked it I had some tell me they didnt go well since they are two different style types. Im glad I didnt listen though. I love my set ... I like different...fits my personality

I love my ring, as in I love it. I cannot believe my fiance did such a perfect job of picking it out.

When I saw that Tiffany box I knew right away that most likely, I was going to love it, but they have two settings I'm really not into - I was a little on edge. Then the box pops open and I see this perfection:


It's not the biggest, but it is the purest diamond I've owned at a flawless D

This is my current engagament ring




And this is the set I'm having my diamond set into. So the round diamond is coming out and my marquise is going in.



This is an example I found online that is exactly what the set looks like, except in mine the band and engagement ring are the same size.



ETA: The diamond itself is worth around $5,000 but that's because it's really really nice, and I'm getting the engagement ring setting AND Wedding band for $1950 altogether!!! And theyre 18k white gold with .65 carat total weight.
So if you get a cheaper diamond (which most people do) A nice set really isn't too bad for price

That's key. My "set" doesn't match either - but the bottom band is my 5 year anniversary band.
This is my upgrade. I should take pics of my original someday, I still have it.
It's our 10 year wedding anniversary this year and I've been talking to DH about getting a simpler band so I can wear my anniversary band on my right hand.

I looove this vintage feel of mismatched bands.

My wedding band won't match my ring perfectly, it'll be a 'stacked' look which I am just really, really into. Nothing everything has to fit an match perfectly, I think! Beautiful band btw, very delicate and pretty!

I think it looks good. And as long as you love it, thats all that matters! My engagement ring looks like yours, but smaller. Lol I was looking at bands too and liked the ones that look like yours. So thats probably what Ill be getting later on.

And I agree, I dont' think there are any hard or fast rules about jewelery. It's an individual thing. I'd rather not have cookiecutter.

I have a milgrain diamond wedding band, the milgrain matches my fiance's future wedding band but my engagement ring, I still love the way it looks.. so yep, I agree with you on that one, I also didn't want to get a band with that little nook that they put in there to fit under the engagment ring.. I'm just not a fan, I know it makes rings fit snug, but I'd rather have a gap I think. I know that sounds odd, but I just really preferred it
