PP Bleeding Odor?

I was bleeding and then I stopped at week two. I had a lot of clotting issues and they had to put me on some meds to get it the clots out and then soon after, I stopped bleeding.

Now I am bleeding again. It is no longer dark blood like it had been and it is bright red. My obgyn had wanted me to go to the ER since I was having cramps all of a sudden again that was quite uncomfortable and painful. With a 3 week old baby, that posed impossible for me to do today.

The smell is horrible though. It always has been since I had my daughter 3 1/2 weeks ago but it is worse now than ever. Like a really foul odor and I feel gross when I catch a wiff of it. Is this normal? The smell is like a rotten smell.

You need to go to the ER, that does not sound good at all. It could be an infection.

No the smell is not normal you need to go to the ER. You could have an infection. Find someone to watch the baby or you are just going to have to take the baby with.

I had the same weird odor. Everyone told me I was fine. It smells rotten, and I gagged when I would smell it. I would go get checked out. ASAP.

I was actually admitted to the hospital last night and I'm still here (thank god for laptops and free wifi), had a similar thing going on. If you look at my page it was the last topic I posted. Well I didnt expel all of the placenta and got a infection. I'm on IV antibiotics now and having a D & C tomorrow morning. Please go to the dr!!!!!!!! Like now

I am freaked now and will. I would not take my 3 week old to the ER today with the stomach bug that seems to be going around, but I will get someone to watch her in the morning and go. I just was not so into the ER today because my obgyn seems ER happy and has sent me there 3 times since I gave birth a little over 3 weeks ago and they did nothing for me...of course it was for a different reason than this but still....just couldn't make it there today.

Grosses me out though and I take shower after shower and it never seems to go away. The moment I get a shower, it goes away for a couple minutes and then it is back again. So gross.

I have a question for you....did you have constant diarrhea after birth? I had a c-section but have had constant diarrhea and dropped weight like crazy since birth and they have run blood test after blood test, and tested my stool, etc and said everything comes back okay but I cannot hold food in for more than 40 minutes after eating. I can drink and stay hydrated all day but nothing else. No one has answers and it pisses me off that I have no clue what is wrong and then one nurse sent me a message on FB the other day and told me to make sure they didn;t leave a piece of the placenta in me during the c-section, which I thought would be impossible until I just read your message,.

I just read what you posted before you went to the hospital and that sounds like what happened to me at like a week pp. That was why I was in the ER the first time...I felt this horrible pain and then a plop in the toilet and it was this huge blod clot...that was when he checked me at the ER, because he was on call and came down once he knew I was there, and he felt clots and was pushing down hard on my stomach after an exam and said they were not coming out so he put me on some medicine for 2 days that made my uterus contract and then more clots were coming out...but a lot smaller in scale of what I first saw in the toilet that day. Then I quit bleeding soon after and now started up again today, nothing heavy at all but it is now bright red and like a normal period. But it hurts like bad mesntrual cramps.

Everytime I eat something I have too run to the bathroom wthin 15 mintes, and then it's back and forth for almost 45 minutes. I'm 7 weeks PP and I've lost 26lbs. I completely understand your frustration!!!

It's so crazy I just met you right now, because I have been trying to figure this out for weeks and it's like boom...I am going to the ER as soon as my sister can come over to watch the baby. Thank you so much for telling me your story. I hope this could possibly be the end for me once I bring up the idea of this to the doctor.

I truely hope they're able to figure out whats going on and you're able to find some relief. Hang in there mama
