re: Allowance for a 4 yr old?

Both my kids get.allowance weekly its 50.00 bucks a week.

It goes into their separate bank accounts.
They use it to save up and get to use it to buy stuff when they want to.

My 4 yr old really just uses it at times at the dollar store or toys r us.
And my 10 yr old.uses it more often that's how she buys her apps fir her ipad or iPod etc..... her monster high dolls since they are almost 50 bucks a piece. Lol

But she us saving up.for.a car in 6 yrs lol and her license lol so she will be good and ready by then. Lol

We just started doing a CHORE CHART, four different chores (very easy ones) and seven days of each, she gets a sticker when she does them and when the whole sheet is full (one week) she gets 75 cents each line which is 3.00 BUT 50 cents has to go to a "charity" (we have sponsor kids so she uses that money to buy stickers and stuff for them). The rest of the money we keep in a piggy bank and she can either spend it on whatever she wants or save up for something more expensive. It has worked well with her understanding that you can't just buy everything out there and saving up, I have been most impressed with how she enjoys buying for "charity". Also we are relaxed about the chores, if she is just really not into that day I say it's fine but you know it will take longer to make money and buy that toy.
