Aww man...

Well... all the worrying i was doing over what shirt to put Cameron in for his school pictures yesterday didn't even matter   He comes home today and i see his picture packet in his folder... with a note...

"No Luck, it was in the gym and he was VERY UPSET (big and underlined) - we will try again at retakes."

I was kinda bummed, I was hoping since he went through pictures last year (granted they didn't go well either) that this year would be a little easier.. nope. They sent his money back to us which was nice of them instead of giving me a picture of him snot covered and screaming his butt off... but I just wish sometimes that he could be not so much normal... but not so ... extreme and upset over little things. idk how to word it.. if you're a SN mommy I'm sure you know what I mean.

Would it help if you were there with him at picture time?

yeah, maybe show up at picture time with his favorite toy or something special to make him feel calm enough to take the picture..good luck next time!!

I would ask if for retakes they could do the SN students first (alone) then do the other children.
Putting them in a loud room full of kids sounds like they were setting him up to fail.

I'm sorry. If it makes you feel better, my kid hasn't had a picture since he was 11 months for this very reason. I hope he co-operates for his next photos.

we tried portraits at the mall and it ended with Katie running and screaming into cinnabon, knocking over an elderly asian guy on her way there  

we haven't been back since.

I haven't had photos done since my eldest was about 19 months cos he freaks out, especially when there's lots of people.

I'm sorry. Maybe you could be there with him at retakes?

I plan to invite myself to retakes... it worked better last year that way... I shoulda just went with him this time too... stupid me -____-;;

Ah man! I know that's rough. My son told me he did not smile- we may be doing retakes. I totally get what you mean!

I know exactly how you feel. Last year the picture that got published in the year book was of DD crying and her teacher holding her in her arms.....

  Picture day this year is next week. I'm hoping for a better reaction, but I doubt it. Makes me sad.

Ive already made the decision to drive him in that day myself and be there for the retakes, even if that means him coming home with me when we are finished... because this was take 2 (with me there)

I know exactly how you feel! Bubbas school pictures were last week and yeah... He had a tantrum... Kind of went nuts... No picture for him lol.
