Encapsulation?

posted 9th Oct
Who did yours? I'm giving birth in a hospital and haven't asked if I'm even allowed to take my placenta. I didn't do this with DD and wish I would have. I found a place here that does it. I'm waiting for them to email me back (I have phone anxiety). If you had it done by someone, how much was it?

I know you can buy kits and do it yourself. Not sure where to look when hiring someone to do it for you though. Good luck

I'm afraid that I'd smurf it up. It'd be just my luck and I only get one shot. Lol

well I assume the instructions are good haha. The kits I have seen are around $60 if I remember right so I assume around that price +more for labor costs.

Im delivering in a hospital and paying $150, there are a couple of women in my area that do them.
She just told me to make sure the hospital doesn't use chemicals on it and to keep it on ice. She'll pick it up from the hospital or my house once I'm discharged.

no i have not and have never intended to but here is some things I have read

You will have better chance of making the process of being able to take your placenta with the least amount of hassle possible if you present it as a religious preference.

Its routine in many hospitals to inject formaldehyde into placentas you would need to make it know you would not want that.

When you get a hold of the encapsulation people ask for their advice. They may even handle the arrangements with the hospital, picking it up etc. If not they will probably be able to guide you on what you need and need to do
