Bleeding nipple--not related to breastfeeding?

So I just got out of the shower and noticed I had blood on my arm...couldn't figure out where it came from, cleaned it up and was getting dressed. Then I realized my right nipple had blood on it. When I looked closer, I realized it was bleeding, like oozing out without squeezing or anything. I got a wet washcloth and cleaned it up and have a cotton ball to stop anymore bleeding.

I am still breastfeeding, but it's nap time here so baby hasn't eating in 3+ hours and didn't bite me (at least not in the last week or so) I did also just get my first pp period. Has anyone had anything like this before? Could it just be the hormones from my period? Either way it's freaking weird!

Weird, I've never heard of nipples bleeding randomly. You sure you didn't scratch it while drying off or something. Definitely something to google!!
