How old is too old to breastfeed?

In your opinion, how old is too old for a baby to breastfeed?
I ask because I saw that show "What would YOU do?" about breastfeeding in public, and most people seemed comfortable with it.
But, when the child was 4 years old and being breastfed, some women thought it was not only inappropriate, but somewhat disturbing.
So, that's why I ask. How old is too old?

18 months but i could see up to 24months after that if you want them to have breastmilk you pump

Whatever age the mother and child mutual decide is best for them.

Not my place or affecting me in the least to see a child 4,5,6 breastfeeding if it works for them. No reason to judge something that has no impact on me what so ever  

I would say around 4-5 years old is a little too old too. but, to each their own. haha

Whenever the child decides not to nurse.

When either the mother or child are no longer comfortable with it.

I really don't know. I breastfed for a year and would have been fine going longer, I wanna say 2 would have been the cut off for me but who knows really. And other moms can decide what is best for them and their child, I'm not really weirded out by extended breast feeding.

For me, personally, probably not after 2 or 3 years old.

LB is 18 months and I don't see stopping in our near future.

Why? What if a mother is not able to pump but her and child still want to breastfeed?

My cousin told me its weird to BF past 1.

But organizations say its best to BF to least 2.

I hope to BF till my son is at least 2, then we will go from there.

When they are old enough to tell you to lay off the spicy food, I think they're too old.
