CS Modification question

What kind of modification is requested for it?

Do you mean what are reasons to ask for modification?

You would ask for modification if there was a change in income for the non-custodial parent. If he was making more money, then the custodial parent would ask for modification. If he lost his job or was making less, he would ask for modification to pay less child support.

Also, modification can be requested if there is a change in expenses for the child such as adding in childcare expenses. Or once the child is school-aged, they have what they call "child rearing" expenses. Those are all those extra-curriculars such as sports, martial arts, dance, gymnastics, etc. that cost you money to put them in but help shape the general well being of a child.

I think there might be more, but those are kind of the big ones. Is that what you meant?

Well is it you who is saying he makes more money? Then he'll have to provide his check stubs showing he got a raise or if it's a second job, he'll have to show check stubs for that job. If it's been long enough that he filed taxes with the new amount or new job, he'll have to provide tax returns.

If he's saying he lost his job or got a different job that makes less, he has to show proof of separation and/or check stubs at the new job if there is one.

He is trying to lower it. But apparently he didn't turn in the paper work in time

Nothing can be done right now. He missed the deadline to turn the papers in, so he has to refile in order to request to try and lower my child support. Even if he does, it takes 6-12 months for a new child support court order to be put in place.

I never got sent any paper work. He did not fill out the paperwork to start the modification. So CSE said they won't lower the amount

yes if he does and they take a review in you will have to provide the income worksheet as will he.
