re: Today is the day I buy formula for my 7 month old

Wow, I'm really surprised to see that you're doing this, because you made me feel like a crappy mum for thinking about supplementing with formula a few months back (we didn't end up doing it, we're still breastfeeding).

Im sorry its been such a hard journey for you, I hope the transition is smooth and you finally get some restful nights.

I wouldn't switch to formula...This is a phase who knows how long it will last tho. There are other options...donated breastmilk, goats milk, and homemade formula...it you decide on store bought do your research....ALOT of formulas have GMO ingredients....I know you were worried about that before.

He may not even take the formula tho...If you stop BFing you may be able to pump successfully since he will no longer be sucking you dry? Will he take a paci at night at all?

Oh I forgot...buy a 100% Baltic amber teething necklace ( the kind that is designed for babies with a break away or plastic clasp and each bead is knotted in)... its really helped my son...I took it off for one night and he was back to drooling and pissed off hah

I have a couple recipies from a book- my aunt sent me pics of them for a friend...ones made from organic raw cows milk and a few oils, nutritional yeast, cod liver oil, a few other vitamin ingredients and then a quicker ( on the go) commercial type formula you just add a few things....then there is a raw goats milk formula which is the healthiest according to her research..you just add a couple things to the goats milk..my Cousin did so well on it when she couldn't bf because of milk allergy/ colic.

I'm on my phone and can't link but if you want them I can PM you from my laptop

I would never make someone feel bad intentionally. The thing I always said to women that were thinking of formula feeding was that a good motivation for me was to look up the chemicals in formula. Because thats what has helped me stay away from it. But im literally at my witts end after 7 months of only getting 2 hours of sleep at a time, being the only one that can put him to sleep for months, and having every single person around me NOT support breastfeeding. Formula is my LAST resort, and he didnt even take it at all, he hated it.

Hes been doing better about not really needing a paci to go to sleep, but I guess im the pacii now because he falls asleep on my breast, I get up to move him in the crib, he wakes up and that hr I spent getting him to sleep was all for nothing and I have to start all over again.

I know how that can be...my son is the exact same way....he went through a phase of kicking/ pulling off/ switching positions too when he was teething his top 4 teeth..or when he had bad gas from being wheat sensitive...it was difficult. The amber really helped...My son never took a paci- so I'm the pacifier haha...what I do is put our mattress on the floor so he cant roll off and hurt himself if I'm in another room. I play soft music while nursing him to sleep and leave it on while hes asleep that way he is less likely to wake up from outside noises. I tuck a blanket between us while he nurses so he is less likely to feel me leave. I sneak out and leave a baby monitor in the room. Ever since I put my bed on the floor I have SO much more freedom.

You could also side car the crib to your bed to give you more room
